Mountain Park (Holyoke, Massachusetts)

Mountain Park, located on Mount Tom in Holyoke, Massachusetts, was originally built as a trolley park by the Holyoke Street Railway Company. Trolley parks were built just outside of populated areas to encourage trolley usage on weekends. The Holyoke Street Railway company created two attractions, Mountain Park toward the base of Mount Tom, and a large house on the summit of the mountain.

South Hadley Canal

The South Hadley Canal was a canal along the Connecticut River in South Hadley, Massachusetts. It is said to be the earliest navigable canal in the United States, with operation commencing in 1795. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the South Hadley Canal Historic District.

WFXQ-CD

WFXQ-CD is a Class A television station for the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts that is licensed to Springfield. It broadcasts a digital signal on UHF channel 28 from a transmitter at the top of the old Mount Tom Ski Area in Holyoke. Owned by the LIN TV Corporation, WFXQ is sister to NBC affiliate WWLP who it serves as a full-time repeater of, and the two share studios at Broadcast Center in the Sandy Hill section of Chicopee next to the I-391/MA 116 interchange.

Mount Tom (Massachusetts)

Mount Tom, 1,202 feet, is a steep, rugged traprock mountain peak on the west bank of the Connecticut River 4.5 miles (7 km) northwest of downtown Holyoke, Massachusetts. The mountain is the southernmost and highest peak of the Mount Tom Range and the highest traprock peak of the 100-mile long Metacomet Ridge.
