WFCR

WFCR is a U.S. radio station operating at 88.5 MHz in the FM band. It is located at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Amherst, Massachusetts and its broadcasting range extends to western and central Massachusetts, northern Connecticut and southern Vermont and New Hampshire. A NPR member, WFCR's studios are currently located at Hampshire House on the UMass campus, but the station will be moving most of its operations to Springfield in 2013.

Enfield, Massachusetts

See Enfield, Connecticut for the town that was located in the Massachusetts Bay Colony from 1683-1749. Enfield was a town in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, incorporated in 1816 from portions of Greenwich and Belchertown. It was named in honor of one of its early settlers, Robert Field. General Joseph Hooker, Union general during the American Civil War, was once a resident, and his grandfather was once a town leader.

Prescott, Massachusetts

Prescott was a town in Hampshire County, Massachusetts. It was incorporated in 1822 from portions of Pelham and New Salem, and was partially built on Equivalent Lands. It was named in honor of Colonel William Prescott, who commanded the American forces at the Battle of Bunker Hill. It was unincorporated on April 28, 1938 as part of the creation of the Quabbin Reservoir. It was the least populous of the four unincorporated towns, with barely 300 residents by 1900.
