Coldwater River (Western Michigan)

Coldwater River is a 19.4-mile-long stream in the U.S. state of Michigan. Located in western Michigan, the river is a part of the Grand River drainage basin. The Coldwater River flows through Barry and Kent counties, and the drainage basin also includes a large portion of southwest Ionia County and a tiny portion of Sunfield Township in the northwest corner of Eaton County. The Coldwater is formed from the Little Thornapple River in Carlton Township in Barry County.

Alto, Michigan

Alto is an unincorporated community in Bowne Township, Kent County, in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is situated on Platt Lake Creek, at the intersection of Bancroft Avenue and 60th Street, just west of M-50, about two miles south of exit 52 off I-96. Alto is situated at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:42|51|24|N|85|22|49|W|region:US | |name= }} on the boundary between section 33 of Lowell Township and section 4 of Bowne Township, although it lies mostly within Bowne.

Veen Observatory

The James C. Veen Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by the Grand Rapids Amateur Astronomical Association. Built during the 1960s and opened in 1970, it is located south of Lowell, Michigan, USA. Its two domes house the main instruments, and a roll-off structure houses a 17-inch Dobsonian.
