WMFN (640 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a brokered Regional Mexican format. The station is known on-air as "La Poderosa" (Spanish for "the powerful one"). WJQK is a contemporary Christian music radio station in Zeeland, Michigan on a frequency of 99.3 MHz. It is heard as far East As Lowell, Michigan, as Far North As Grant, Michigan, and As Far South As Kalamazoo, Michigan Originally a country music station, its original call letters were WZND (which referred to city of license Zeeland, Michigan), until Lanser Broadcasting purchased the station and changed them to WJQK in January 1987.

Macatawa River

The Macatawa River, also known as the Black River, is located in the lower part of Ottawa County, Michigan, which drains into Lake Macatawa and eventually into Lake Michigan. The main stream is 16.8 miles long. The name Macatawa is a mis-phoneticization of the Native American "Muck-i-ta-wog-go-me", which means "black water". The region was inhabited by Ottawas, Chippewas and Potawatomie tribes prior to European Settlement.
