Climax, Michigan

Climax is a village in Kalamazoo County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 767 at the 2010 census. The village is located within Climax Township on the northern boundary with Charleston Township, and is roughly 12 miles west of Battle Creek and 16 miles east of Kalamazoo. Climax shares a school district with the neighboring town of Scotts.

Portage River (Kalamazoo/St. Joseph Counties)

Portage River is a 38.6-mile-long river that flows southward through Kalamazoo County and St. Joseph County, Michigan. Its headwaters are 8 miles east of the city of Kalamazoo at Portage Lake, and the river flows southwest to its mouth within the city limits of Three Rivers, where it drains into the St. Joseph River.

Fort Custer Training Center

Fort Custer Training Center, often known simply as Fort Custer, is a federally owned and state-operated Michigan Army National Guard training facility, but is also used by other branches of the armed forces and armed forces from Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. It is one of the most heavily used Midwest training facilities, and is used mainly for company level small arms and maintenance training. The 20th Century Tactical Studies Group (based in the US Midwest), holds two battles there every year.

Galesburg, Michigan

Galesburg is a city in Kalamazoo County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,009 at the 2010 census. Galesburg is located along the north side of the Kalamazoo River in Comstock Charter Township with a portion of the city's east side extending into Charleston Township. The city is situated on M-96 and is just north of I-94 (with exits due south of the city's west side and about one mile to the east).
