Curtis Township is a civil township of Alcona County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,378 at the 2000 census. Curtis Township was organized in 1881 and named for its first settler, E.D. Curtis. There were several lumber camps in the township area around Curtisville.

Iargo Springs
Iargo Springs features several viewing decks and a boardwalk path through the natural springs. The natural springs can be accessed from the road by stairs leading down to the Au Sable River. Man-made barriers pool the springs and create small waterfalls that the ice cold spring water runs down. The wooden boardwalk stretches over 1,000 feet as it winds through the natural springs. Viewing is best in the spring or just after rainfall.

Barton City, Michigan
Barton City is an unincorporated community in Alcona County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is situated about 2 miles north of M-72 in the Huron National Forest on the shore of Jewel Lake. Most of the community is within Millen Township, although nearby settlement extends north into Hawes Township. The ZIP code, 48705, serves a much larger area including large portions of Millen, Hawes, and Mitchell Township.

Lumberman's Monument
Lumberman's Monument is a monument dedicated to the workers of the early logging industry in Michigan. It was built in 1931, dedicated in 1932 and is managed by the USDA Forest Service. It is located in the northeastern part of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan along the Au Sable River within Huron-Manistee National Forests. Access to the park is on River Road, which intersects M-65 west of Oscoda, Michigan.
