Dinosaur Gardens
Dinosaur Gardens is a tourist attraction in Ossineke, Michigan, USA. Built on a 40-acre tract of drained swampland, visitors to the "zoo" encounter several dozen home-made sculptures of dinosaurs, prehistoric birds, prehistoric mammals, and cavemen, many of which are arranged into action-packed (and often violent) scenes. The attraction, started by folk artist Paul N. Domke in the 1930s, also boasts a gift shop and a dinosaur-themed miniature golf course.

Scarecrow Island
Scarecrow Island is a small, 7-acre (0.03-km²) island in Lake Huron. It forms the southern limit of Thunder Bay and helps define the harbor of Alpena, Michigan. It is part of Sanborn Township, in Alpena County, Michigan. In recognition of Scarecrow Island's importance as a traditional nesting site for colonial waterbirds such as cormorants, herons, gulls, and terns, it received protection as one of eight islands in the Michigan Islands National Wildlife Refuge in 1943.

WATZ-FM
WATZ-FM and WRGZ (96.7 FM, "WATZ 99.3 and 96.7") are two radio stations simulcasting a country music format. The two stations are licensed to the cities of Alpena (WATZ) and Rogers City, Michigan (WRGZ). WRGZ first began broadcasting in 1984 under the call sign WMLQ while WATZ has been assigned the same call sign since it signed on in the late 1960s. The stations, along with sister station WATZ AM, are currently owned by Midwestern Broadcasting Company.
