It is a census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes and has no legal status as an incorporated municipality. The CDP population was 449 at the 2000 census. Suicide Hill Ski Jump

Suicide Hill Ski Jump is a 90 meter ski jump located in Negaunee, Michigan, and is part of the Ishpeming Ski Club. It is one of three major ski jumps located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Suicide Hill has been in existence since 1925. Suicide Hill Ski Jump is located in a small valley known as Suicide Bowl. Suicide Bowl contains a total of five jumps, a 13 meter, 25 meter, 40 meter, 60 meter, and Suicide Hill at 90 meters.

Breitung Hotel

The Breitung Hotel, named for Edward Breitung, was a hotel at 111 South Pioneer Avenue in Negaunee, Michigan. The hotel, designed by David M. Harteau, was built from 1879 to 1880. The building was listed as a Michigan State Historic Site on June 20, 1985. The hotel was destroyed in a fire. The park at the site of hotel was named Breitung Park in August 2009 in its honor.

Negaunee, Michigan

Negaunee is a city in Marquette County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,568 at the 2010 census. The city is located at the southwest corner of Negaunee Township in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The city is home to the Michigan Iron Industry Museum. The name Negaunee comes from a Native American word nigani meaning "foremost, in advance, leading," which was determined to be the closest Obijwa translation for pioneer. Within the city limits is Teal Lake.

Ishpeming, Michigan

Ishpeming is a city in Marquette County in the Upper Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 6,470 at the 2010 census. This is down from a higher population in the 1950s and 1960s when the economically supportive iron ore mines had a much higher employment level. Ishpeming Township is located to the northwest of the city but is administratively autonomous.
