Posen, Michigan

Posen is a village in Presque Isle County of the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 234 at the 2010 census. The village is located within Posen Township. Posen has a strong Polish background and is home to the Posen Potato Festival, held every year on during the first weekend after Labor Day. The festival includes activities with potato pancakes and polka dancing. Posen has a branch of the Presque Isle District Library. Posen is also the German name for Poznań, a city in Poland.

Swan River (Michigan)

The Swan River is a 17.3-mile-long river in Presque Isle County, Michigan. It originates in a swamp south of Belknap and east of Hawks. It flows generally northeast, between the Trout River and Little Trout River watersheds. The river enters the small Swan Lake, just southeast of Calcite limestone quarry, before reaching its mouth in Lake Huron, in a small bay between Adams Points and Quarry Point. The river is not navigable but provides a salmon habitat.

Grand Lake (Michigan)

Grand Lake is a 5,660-acre lake in Presque Isle County in the U.S. state of Michigan. Grand Lake is a substantial lake of approximately 7 miles (11 km) in length and up to 1.5 miles (2.5 km) in width. The lake is on the boundary between Presque Isle Township to the east and Krakow Township to the west, approximately 15 miles (25 km) north of Alpena on US 23, which passes to the south and west of the lake.
