Dowagiac River

The Dowagiac River is a 30.9-mile-long stream in the Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. The stream rises as the "Dowagiac Drain" a few miles east of Decatur in central Decatur Township in southern Van Buren County, Michigan. Flowing west and south, it is joined first by Red Run and then by the Lake of the Woods Drain near the southern edge of Hamilton Township, it becomes the "Dowagiac River" before entering Wayne Township in Cass County.

WSMK

WSMK (99.1 FM, "Smokin' 99.1") is a radio station licensed to Buchanan, Michigan and serving the South Bend, Indiana market, broadcasting a Rhythmic Contemporary format. The Station signed on as a Urban Contemporary format in 1996 as "Smokin 99.1. " The station covers Elkhart, South Bend, Benton Harbor & Michigan City. This was the second Urban station in the Southwest Michigan area, the first having been the former WLLJ-AM 910 in Cassopolis which by then had switched to oldies as WGTO.

Niles, Michigan

Niles is a city in Berrien and Cass counties in the U.S. state of Michigan, near South Bend, Indiana. In 2010, the population was 11,600 according to the 2010 census. It is the larger, by population, of the two principal cities in the Niles-Benton Harbor, Michigan Metropolitan Statistical Area, an area with 156,813 people. Niles lies on the banks of the St. Joseph River, at the site of the French Fort St. Joseph, first built in 1697 to protect the Jesuit Mission established in 1691.
