Harbor Springs, Michigan

Harbor Springs is a city and resort community in Emmet County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,194 at the 2010 census. Harbor Springs is in a sheltered bay on the north shore of the Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan. The Little Traverse Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse on the Harbor Point peninsula that forms the natural harbor there. M-119 connects with US 31 7 miles east and south at Bay View, with Petoskey just another 4 miles away on the south side of the harbor.

Little Traverse Bay

Little Traverse Bay is a small bay, 170 feet (55 m) deep, off Lake Michigan in the northern area of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The cities of Harbor Springs and Petoskey are on this bay. The Little Traverse Light marks the entrance to the smaller harbor within the bay, at Harbor Springs. The bay has significant publicly accessible parkland on the waterfront, including the Petoskey waterfront, the Harbor Springs waterfront and the Petoskey State Park.

Harbor Springs Municipal Airport, also known as Harbor Springs Airport, is a public airport located three miles (5 km) east of the central business district of Harbor Springs, a city in Emmet County, Michigan, United States. This general aviation airport has no scheduled commercial flights. Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Harbor Springs Municipal Airport is assigned MGN by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.
