Crane Lake Township, St. Louis County, Minnesota

Crane Lake Township is a small township in St. Louis County, Minnesota, United States. The township was organized on June 18, 2002. It had a population of 82 at the 2010 census. The community is located on County Road 24 and is the southern entry to Voyageurs National Park. Crane Lake is also a western entry to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and an entry into Canada. Crane Lake is mostly a resort and recreational area. It is known for walleye and smallmouth bass fishing.

It is privately owned by Darrell Scott and is also known at Scott's Seaplane Base. Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Scotts Seaplane Base is assigned CDD by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.
