Fertile is a city in Polk County, Minnesota, United States. It is part of the "Grand Forks-ND-MN Metropolitan Statistical Area". The population was 842 at the 2010 census. The annual Polk County Fair is held in Fertile and dates back to 1900. The Polk County Fair is also the main attraction for the town of Fertile during the summer. Maple Bay, Minnesota

Maple Bay is an unincorporated community in Godfrey Township,in central Polk County, Minnesota, United States. A community of second homes and cabins, it lies on the west end of Maple Lake, approximately 6 miles west of Erskine. Maple Bay is located on a paved road which connects Mentor and U.S. Route 2 with County Road 41 en route to Fertile.

Maple Lake (Polk County)

Maple Lake is a lake in central Polk County, Minnesota, United States, located 2 miles due south of Mentor and approximately 4 miles west of Erskine. The name of the lake is taken from the extensive maple tree forest which surrounds it. Even before American settlement of the region, the existence of these extensive hardwood forests in an otherwise treeless open prairie gave the lake a geographic identity.
