The Sherburne County Generating Station, also known as Sherco, is a massive coal-fired power plant in Becker, Minnesota, which is in Sherburne County. Its three units have a combined capacity of 2,400 megawatts, making it the largest power plant in the state. In comparison, the single-unit Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant located less than 4 miles away has an output of 579 MW.

Highway 24 Bridge

The Highway 24 Bridge is a steel girder bridge that spans the Mississippi River between Clearwater, Minnesota and Clear Lake, Minnesota. It was designed and built in 1958 by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The bridge is longer than any other bridge upstream of the Richard P. Braun Bridge in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. This is because the Highway 24 bridge crosses a river road and three spans of floodplain before actually crossing the Mississippi.

Becker, Minnesota

Becker is a city in Sherburne County, Minnesota, between the Mississippi and Elk Rivers. The population was 4,538 at the 2010 census. U.S. Route 10 serves as a main route in the city.

Clearwater, Minnesota

Clearwater is a city in Stearns and Wright counties in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The population was 1,735 at the 2010 census. Most of the city lies in Wright County, with only a small part of the city's area extending into Stearns County. The Wright County portion of Clearwater is part of the Minneapolis–St. Paul, MN-WI Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the small portion in Stearns County is part of the St. Cloud, MN Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Clearwater River (Mississippi River)

The Clearwater River is a 43.4-mile-long tributary of the Mississippi River in central Minnesota. It rises in southern Stearns County and flows south into Meeker County, passing the town of Watkins. It turns east and enters a chain of lakes, eventually becoming the border between Stearns County and Wright County, passing the town of Fairhaven and entering Clearwater Lake. Upon leaving the lake, the river flows northeast, joining the Mississippi River at Clearwater.
