Verizon Wireless Center

The Verizon Wireless Center is a 5,280-seat (8,200 for concerts) multi-purpose arena, in Mankato, Minnesota built in 1995. It is home to the Minnesota State Mavericks men's ice hockey team and hosts musical performances and other events. Prior to the building of the arena, Minnesota State Mankato played their home games at All Seasons Arena, built in 1974, which is now their main practice facility. The arena's naming sponsor is Verizon Wireless, one of America's major wireless phone companies.

Minnesota State University, Mankato (Minnesota State Mankato) (MSU) is a public four-year university located in Mankato, Minnesota, a community of 53,000 located 75 miles southwest of Minneapolis-St. Paul. The school is part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System (MnSCU). The university has two satellite campuses, one in the Twin Cities suburb of Edina and the other in Owatonna. As of Fall 2011, the student body was the third-largest in the state, with over 15,000 students.
