The White Earth Indian Reservation (or Gaa-waabaabiganikaag in the Ojibwe language) is the home to the White Earth Band, located in northwestern Minnesota. It is the largest Indian reservation in that state by land area. The reservation includes all of Mahnomen County, plus parts of Becker and Clearwater counties in the northwest part of the state, along the Wild Rice and White Earth rivers. Mahnomen County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of 2010, the population was 5,413. Its county seat is Mahnomen. The entire county is part of the White Earth Indian Reservation http://www2. census. gov/geo/maps/tribaltract2000/4595_WhiteEarth/CTN4595_001. pdf. It is the only county in Minnesota entirely within an Indian reservation. The county, along with East Polk and Becker County, are one of the biggest cattle-raising areas in the northwestern part of Minnesota.
