Beltrami County, Minnesota

Beltrami County is a county located in the northern part of the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of 2010, the population was 44,442. Its county seat is Bemidji. Portions of the Leech Lake and Red Lake Indian reservations are in the county. The northernmost portion of the Mississippi River flows through the southern part of the county, through the city of Bemidji.

Red Lake (Minnesota)

Red Lake is a lake in Beltrami County in northern Minnesota, USA. It is the largest natural freshwater lake located entirely within Minnesota, and the 16th largest lake in the United States. The lake is separated into two sections by a peninsula on the eastern side that almost bisects it in the middle. The community of Ponemah lies on the peninsula. The two parts of the lake are known as Upper Red Lake and Lower Red Lake. The lake has a total surface area of 1,148.779 km² (443.546 sq mi).

Lower Red Lake, Minnesota

Lower Red Lake is an unorganized territory in Beltrami County, Minnesota, USA. The territory is located on the Red Lake Indian Reservation, and the town of Red Lake is located in the area. The population was 5,057 at the 2000 census. The United States Census Bureau has identified four communities within the territory as census-designated places (CDPs).

Battle River (Minnesota)

The Battle River is a 2.7-mile-long tributary of Red Lake in Minnesota, the United States. It is formed by the junction of its North and South branches. The North Branch flows east to west for 13.7 miles entirely in Beltrami County, and the South Branch flows 40.1 miles, starting at the outlet of Bartlett Lake in Koochiching County and flowing west-northwest into Beltrami County.
