Proctor, Minnesota

Proctor is a city in Saint Louis County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 3,057 at the 2010 census. The city was established as Proctorknott in 1894, with the name coming from J. Proctor Knott, former Governor of Kentucky (1883–1887). He became famous for delivering the speech The Untold Delights of Duluth to the U.S. House of Representatives. The name of the city was shortened to Proctor in 1904. Proctor's welcome sign on U.S. Highway 2 states "You Have a Place in Proctor".

Bayview Heights (Duluth)

Bayview Heights is a primarily residential neighborhood in Duluth, Minnesota, United States. Although it is grouped by the city with the West Duluth communities, it often functions more as a part of the city of Proctor than of Duluth, due primarily to its hilltop location (1200 feet or roughly 400 m above sea level) rather than the 600 feet or roughly 200 m above sea level typical of West Duluth neighborhoods.

Spirit Mountain (ski area)

Spirit Mountain is a ski area in Duluth, Minnesota. The ski area was founded by The City of Duluth and was built in 1974. Supporters of Spirit Mountain were Mayor Ben Boo, Former Olympian George Hovland and Manley Goldfine. The city was currently led by Mayor Ben Boo during its creation and brought increased winter revenues to the city which were relatively nonexistent previously. The construction of I-35 stretching to Duluth was a major contributor of the initial success of the ski area.

The Denfeld neighborhood is located within the West Duluth district of Duluth, Minnesota, United States. It consists mostly of closely spaced single-family residential homes, although a fair number of such houses have an area within the domicile registered as a rental unit.
