Lewiston, Dakota County, Minnesota

The ghost town of Lewiston, Minnesota is in Sciota Township in Dakota County. It lies northeast of Northfield, and nearest to the small city of Randolph. A town once larger than nearby Northfield; gone in only fifteen years. but this town set near the Cannon River and Alta Avenue was home to many Minnesotan politicians, such as Edward J. Stanton, Minnesota

Stanton is an unincorporated community in Stanton Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota, United States. It lies at the junction of Minnesota State Highways 19 and 56, approximately 10 miles east of Northfield. Its post office closed during federal budget cuts in the 1970s. The community is served by an airport with two grass-surfaced runways. The runways are plowed in the winter.

Byllesby Dam (Minnesota)

Byllesby Dam is a dam in Dakota County and Goodhue County, Minnesota in the southern part of the state, just west of the town of Cannon Falls. The 60-foot -high concrete dam was built in 1910 by H.M. Byllesby & Company to impound the Cannon River for hydroelectric power. Byllesby, a former employee of both Edison and Westinghouse, formed what would become Northern States Power in 1909.
