Rainy Lake

Rainy Lake is a relatively large freshwater lake (345 square miles) that straddles the border between the United States and Canada. The Rainy River issues from the west side of the lake and is harnessed to make hydroelectricity for US and Canadian locations. Mitaanjigamiing First Nation

Mitaanjigamiing First Nation, formerly known as Stanjikoming First Nation, is an Ojibwe First Nation located roughly 16 kilometres north of Fort Frances, Ontario, along the shores of Stanjikoming Bay of Rainy Lake. As of November, 2011, the First Nation had a total registered population of 142, of which 99 lived on their own reserve.
