Humphreys County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi, in the Mississippi Delta region. In 2010, the population was 9,375. Its county seat is Belzoni. It is named for Benjamin G. Humphreys. It was named Farm-Raised Catfish Capital of the World in 1976 by then Governor Cliff Finch, since it produces more farm-raised catfish than any other U.S. county. 40,000 acres of the county are underwater, used to grow catfish. About 60% of U.S.
