Holmes Community College

Holmes Community College is a community college located in the state of Mississippi, headquartered in the Goodman Campus in Goodman. The system has three campuses in the cities of Grenada, Ridgeland, and Goodman, which is the location of the main or original campus. Holmes has satellite campuses in Kosciusko and Webster County as well. Holmes Community College traces its origin to 1911 when plans were made to establish Holmes County Agricultural High School in Goodman, Mississippi.

Goodman, Mississippi

Goodman is a town in Holmes County, Mississippi. The population was 1,252 at the 2000 census. Goodman was settled in 1860; first chartered on November 16, 1865; and rechartered on March 5, 1878. The town is named for Walter Goodman. Goodman is the birthplace of John A. Lomax (1867–1948), pioneering folklorist, and David Herbert Donald (1920–2009), Pulitzer-prize-winning historian.
