Harrison County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of 2010, the population was 187,105. Its county seats are Biloxi and Gulfport. Harrison County is named after U.S. President William Henry Harrison. Harrison County is part of the Gulfport–Biloxi, Mississippi, Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county was severely damaged from both Hurricane Camille in August 1969 and Hurricane Katrina on August 28–29, 2005, causing catastrophic effects.

Gulfport (Amtrak station)
The Gulfport Amtrak station is a train station in Gulfport, Mississippi, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. Gulfport Station is a former union station that served the Louisville and Nashville Railroad and Gulf and Ship Island Railroad. Today it operates as the Gulfport Centennial Museum, and is listed on the Mississippi State Department of Archives and History. Train service has been suspended since Hurricane Katrina struck Gulfport in 2005.
