Ponce de Leon, Missouri
Ponce de Leon is an unincorporated community in Stone County, Missouri, United States, about 30 miles south of Springfield. It is part of the Branson, Missouri Micropolitan Statistical Area. The community was founded in 1882. A health resort (named for the explorer Juan Ponce de León) was located here, and the community was named for the resort. Area residents refer to the community as "Poncie"; for years, use of the full name has virtually been abandoned.
