Mineola, Missouri

Mineola is an unincorporated community in western Montgomery County, Missouri, United States. It is located about six miles south of Montgomery City on Missouri Supplemental Route J. It is about one mile from Interstate 70. Its post office closed in 1967 and mail now comes from Montgomery City. The community was founded in 1879. According to Ramsay, the name is a Native American-sounding neologism. It was created by a land grant to Daniel Boone.

Montgomery County, Missouri

Montgomery County is a county located in east central Missouri in the United States, approximately halfway between Columbia and St. Louis. As of the 2010 U.S. Census, the population was 12,236. Its county seat is Montgomery City. The county was named in honor of Richard Montgomery, an American Revolutionary War general killed in 1775 while attempting to capture Quebec City, Canada. With a branch of Stone Hill Winery in New Florence, the county is part of the Missouri Rhineland.

New Florence, Missouri

New Florence is a city in Montgomery County, Missouri, United States. The population was 769 at the 2010 census. It includes a branch of Stone Hill Winery, based in Hermann, Missouri. From here to the St. Louis suburbs is the geographic area known as the Missouri Rhineland, first established as a center of vineyards by German immigrants in the mid-19th century. New Florence lies at the junction of Interstate 70 and State Highway 19. Highway 19 is accessible from Interstate 70 via Exit 175.
