Nashville, Missouri

Nashville is a small unincorporated community in southwestern Barton County, Missouri. It is located one mile west of Route 43 about twelve miles southwest of Lamar. The community was founded in 1869 and is named after Nashville, Tennessee. The Nashville community was the birthplace of twin brothers Horace and Harlow Shapley; Horace went on to become a successful farmer; Harlow became an astronomer of some renown.
