Phelps County, Missouri

Phelps County is a county located in south-central Missouri in the United States. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, it included the mean center of U.S. population in 2000. As of the 2010 Census, the county's population was 45,156. The largest city and county seat is Rolla. The county was officially organized on November 13, 1857, and was named after U.S. Representative and Governor of Missouri John Smith Phelps.
