Lake McDonald
Lake McDonald is the largest lake in Glacier National Park. Lake McDonald is approximately 10 miles (16 km) long, and over a mile (1.6 km) wide and 472 feet (130 m) deep, filling a valley formed by a combination of erosion and glacial activity.

Coram Experimental Forest
The Coram Experimental Forest was established in 1933 within the Flathead National Forest in the state of Montana, about 45 kilometers east of Kalispell and just outside the borders of Glacier National Park. The forest is an outdoor laboratory established for research into the management of one species, the western larch (Larix occidentalis). In 1938, about 800 acres of the original 7,460-acre facility were designated as the Coram Research Natural Area.
