Devil's Slide (Montana)

Devil's Slide is an unusual cliff rock formation on the side of Cinnabar Mountain located in Gallatin National Forest in Park County, Montana north of Yellowstone National Park. This distinctive formation can be viewed from Highway 89 and was created from alternate beds of limestone, sandstone, quartzites that have been tilted to lie nearly vertical and have eroded at different rates.

Emigrant Peak

Emigrant Peak el. 10,915 feet is a prominent mountain peak on the western edge of the Absaroka Range near Emigrant, Montana. The peak is flanked by Emigrant Gulch on the north and Sixmile Creek on the south with the Gallatin National Forest and lies just outside the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. Meldrum Mountain

Meldrum Mountain el. 9,468 feet is a mountain peak in the southwestern section of the Gallatin Range in the Montana portion of Yellowstone National Park. The mountain was named in 1962 by the National Park Service for Judge John W. Meldrum (born September 17, 1843, died February 27, 1936) the first U.S. Commissioner in Yellowstone National Park, a position he held for 41 years (1894-1935).

Judge John W. Meldrum (September 17, 1843 – February 27, 1936) was a carpenter, a Wyoming politician and the first U.S. Commissioner in Yellowstone National Park, a position he held for 41 years (1894–1935).
