Jay's Upstairs

Jay's Upstairs was a bar and nightclub which was a staple of the independent rock, punk, and grunge scene in the Pacific Northwest. The Missoula, Montana bar first opened its doors in 1984 and, after years of competing with various area hotspots, became a stopping point for every up-and-coming band passing through the northern states by the mid 1990s. The building it occupied at 119 West Main Street was one of the oldest in Montana, having been constructed in 1873.
