Millard, Nebraska

Millard is a former town and current neighborhood in southwest Omaha, Nebraska; the original downtown area (often referred to as 'Old Millard') is near 132nd St. and L St. After lengthy legal fights, the city of Millard was annexed by the city of Omaha in 1971. There also were attempts through both the state legislature and the court system to annex Millard into the Omaha Public Schools, but the Millard Public Schools remained an independent unit.

Millard South High School

Millard South High School is a fully accredited public high school located in Omaha, Nebraska. The school colors are red, white and blue. Millard South is one of four high schools within the Millard Public School District. The school was established in 1970 as Millard High School. Millard South is a member of the Nebraska School Activities Association. Athletic teams are known as the Patriots.

It was named in honor of V.J. and Angela Skutt, the longtime Chairman of Mutual of Omaha and his wife, who were large donors toward the school's construction. Millard North High School

Millard North High School is a high school in the Millard Public Schools district. Opened in 1981, Millard North is the second largest school in Nebraska behind Omaha Central High School. Millard North partially opened in 1978 for 9th and 10th grade students. In 1981, the second phase of the project was completed and the school began to serve students in grades 9-12; at that time, the school's name was changed to Millard North High School. The school completed an expansion in 2007.
