Bushwick is a neighborhood in the northern part of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. The neighborhood, formerly Brooklyn's 18th Ward, is now part of Brooklyn Community Board 4. It is served by the NYPD's 83rd Precinct and is represented in the New York City Council as part of Districts 34 and 37. Bushwick is bound by Williamsburg to the west, East New York to the east, Bedford-Stuyvesant and Brownsville to the south, and Ridgewood, Queens to the north.

Bleecker Street
Bleecker Street is a street in New York City's Manhattan borough. It is perhaps most famous today as a Greenwich Village nightclub district. The street is a spine that connects a neighborhood today popular for music venues and comedy, but which was once a major center for American bohemia. Bleecker Street connects Abingdon Square, the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Hudson Street in the West Village, to the Bowery in the East Village.

Knickerbocker Avenue is a station on the BMT Myrtle Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of Myrtle and Knickerbocker Avenues in Bushwick, Brooklyn, it is served by the M train at all times. This elevated station, opened on December 19, 1889, has two side platforms and two tracks with space for a third track. The center track was removed in 1969 when the BMT Myrtle Avenue Line west of the Myrtle Avenue station was demolished after a fire on the structure.

Gates Avenue is a skip-stop station on the elevated BMT Jamaica Line of the New York City Subway, located at the intersection of Gates Avenue and Broadway in Bushwick, Brooklyn. It is served by the Z train during rush hours in the peak direction and the J train at all other times. It is notable for being the oldest existing station in the entire New York City Subway system; It has been in continuous operation for over 127 years.

This elevated station, opened on December 19, 1889, has two side platforms and two tracks with space for a center track, which was removed when the section of the Myrtle Avenue elevated west of Myrtle Avenue was closed and demolished in 1969 after a fire on the structure.
