Rome (Amtrak station)

The Rome Amtrak station is an Neoclassical train station served by Amtrak. It is located on 6599 Martin Street in Rome, New York between the NY 26-49-69 bridge and Mill Road south of the Erie Canal. The current station was built between 1912 and 1914 by the New York Central Railroad south of the city proper to replace the former structure downtown. Such a move was necessitated by a track realignment. In 1988, Amtrak conveyed the station to the city of Rome.

Oneida County Airport

Oneida County Airport was a public airport located in the Town of Whitestown in Oneida County, New York, six miles (10 km) northwest of the central business district of Utica. The airport covered 1,800 acres and had two runways. Oneida County closed the airport in January 2007 and transferred operations to Griffiss International Airport, located about five miles (8 km) to the north in Rome, New York.

Oriskany Battlefield State Historic Site

Oriskany Battlefield State Historic Site is a historic site in Oneida County, New York, USA that marks the Battle of Oriskany, fought in 1777 during the American Revolution, one of the bloodiest engagements of the war. The park is northwest of the Village of Oriskany on NY Route 69 and is southeast of the City of Rome. An obelisk, with plaques at the base commemorating the battle and its participants, is the central feature of the site. The battlefield is on the south side of the Mohawk River.
