Roscoe is in the southwest part of the Town of Rockland, adjacent to New York State Route 17. It is named for New York Senator Roscoe Conkling. Roscoe calls itself the "Trout Town, USA. Agloe, New York

Agloe, New York is a fictional place that became an actual landmark. In the 1930s, General Drafting Company founder Otto G. Lindberg and an assistant, Ernest Alpers, assigned an anagram of their initials to a dirt-road intersection in the Catskill Mountains: New York Route 206 and Morton Hill Road, north of Roscoe, New York. Designed as a copyright trap, the "paper town" published on the General Drafting map then began to appear on Esso maps, proving the effectiveness of the trap.

French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts

French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts is a performing arts summer camp owned by Ron Schaefer and founded in 1970. It is located just outside Hancock, New York, on a private lake known as Sand Pond in the western Catskill Mountains. The camp is approximately two and a half hours from New York City and is between Monticello and Binghamton.

Downsville, New York

Downsville, New York is a hamlet and former village within the town of Colchester in Delaware County, New York. It is the site of the Downsville Bridge, a covered bridge and the historic Union Free School. Downsville is located on the East Branch of the Delaware River. A dam on this portion of the river, at Downsville, was completed by New York City in 1954, creating the Pepacton Reservoir, which is part of the New York City water supply system.
