Stony Hollow Railroad Station

The Stony Hollow Station, MP 8.3 on the Ulster and Delaware Railroad, was a small, station-agent-lacking flagstop/shelter that served the small town of Stony Hollow, between West Hurley and Kingston, New York, and had very little business. It was located halfway up the Hurley Mountain Grade, and was next to the Route 28A bridge crossing. Because of low traffic at this station, it was eventually closed and torn down.

The Esopus Wars were two localized conflicts between the indigenous Esopus tribe of Lenape Indians and colonialist New Netherlanders during the latter half of the 17th century in what is now Ulster County, New York. It leases from Ulster County the former Ulster and Delaware Railroad tracks from Mile Post (MP) 2.90 in Kingston to MP 41.61 in Highmount, where it connects with the Delaware and Ulster Railroad.
