Snowbelt

Snowbelt is a term describing of a number of regions near the Great Lakes in North America where heavy snowfall in the form of lake-effect snow is particularly common. Snowbelts are typically found downwind of the lakes, principally off the eastern and southern shores. Lake-effect snow occurs when cold air moves over warmer water, taking up moisture that later precipitates as snow when the air moves over land and cools.

Churchville, New York

Churchville is a village in Monroe County, New York, United States. According to the 2010 census, the population is 1,961. The village is named after Samuel Church, an early settler. The Village of Churchville is west of the City of Rochester in the north part of the Town of Riga. It is located at the intersection of Routes 33 and 36, north of Interstate 490. Churchville Park and golf course are located north of the village.

Machpelah Cemetery (Le Roy, New York)

Machpelah Cemetery is located on North Street in Le Roy, New York, United States. It was opened in the mid-19th century and expanded since then. Graves from other, smaller burial grounds around Le Roy have been added. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007, one of two cemeteries in Genesee County with that distinction. It was originally built and laid out as a rural cemetery, with a parklike setting on the banks of Oatka Creek.
