Hollis is a middle class neighborhood within the southeastern section of the New York City borough of Queens. Jamaica – 179th Street is a terminal station on the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway. Located at 179th Street and Hillside Avenue in Jamaica, Queens, it serves as the northern terminal for the F at all times and a few rush-hour E trains. This underground station opened on December 10, 1950, has four tracks and two island platforms. To the east are two levels of four relay tracks each extending out to 185th Street.
