Southwick Beach State Park

Southwick Beach State Park is a New York State park that lies along an unusual stretch of sandy beach on the eastern shore of Lake Ontario. The park is 464 acres in size with a 3,500 foot length of beach, and is visited annually by about 100,000 people. Immediately to the south is the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area (3,461 acres), which extends the publicly accessible beach by several miles.

South Sandy Creek

South Sandy Creek is a small tributary to Lake Ontario in Jefferson County, New York. South Sandy flows from the Tug Hill westward through the village of Ellisburgh and then dumps into Lake Ontario. During the War Of 1812 the "Battle Of Big Sandy" was fought along the banks of the lower end of the stream. A public parking lot on Rte 3 has a memorial dedicated to the Americans who fought and died here. Today, South Sandy is known as a major player in Lake Ontario's salmon and trout program.

Ellisburg (village), New York

Ellisburg is a village in Jefferson County, New York, United States. The population was 2244 at the 2010 census. The village is named after two brothers who were the original landowners. The Village of Ellisburg is located near the center of the Town of Ellisburg and is south of Watertown.

Stony Point (Henderson) Light

The Stony Point (Henderson) Light is a lighthouse on the shore of Lake Ontario near Henderson Bay in New York. The site was established in 1826, and the original lighthouse was lit in 1869. The light and attached keeper's quarters are currently privately owned. A new light was built in 1945, and it was automated in 1950. This light is maintained by the US Coast Guard. The site is not open to the public.
