Moss Island

Moss Island in Little Falls, New York is an igneous intrusion of Syenite in the Mohawk Valley with the Little Falls at one end. It became an island when locks were built so boats could avoid the 40 ft falls. It is known for its extremely large (40–50 ft) potholes as well as being popular with local rock climbers. It was declared a National Natural Landmark in May 1976 There are ongoing efforts by the local community to turn Moss Island into a New York State Park.

Little Falls Veterans Memorial Park

Little Falls Veterans Memorial Park is a stadium in Little Falls, New York. It is primarily used for baseball. It is home to the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League and was the home of Little Falls Mets. The ballpark has a capacity of 2,000 people and opened in 1949. The park was used by the Little Falls High School Football team until several years ago, and is still used by the high school baseball team.

Fort Herkimer

Fort Herkimer was a fort located on the southern side of the Mohawk River, opposite West Canada Creek, in central New York, United States. The fort was first built in 1740, around the homestead of the Herscheimer (Herkimer) family. In 1757 during the Seven Years War, young Captain Nicholas Herkimer (later to be a heroic general in the Revolutionary War) had his first military command here when the French attacked German Flatts in 1757 and 1758.

WKTV is the NBC affiliate for the Mohawk Valley of Central New York, licensed to Utica. It broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 29 from a transmitter in the Eatonville section of Fairfield and Herkimer. The station can also be seen on Time Warner Cable channel 4 and in high definition on digital channel 863. Owned by Smith Media, it has studios on Smith Hill Road in Deerfield (with a Utica postal address).

WKTV-DT2 is the CW-affiliated television station for Central Upstate New York's Mohawk Valley. The station is a second digital subchannel of NBC affiliate WKTV that is owned by Smith Media, LLC. Over-the-air, WKTV-DT2 broadcasts a standard definition digital signal on UHF channel 29.2 from a transmitter in the Eatonville section of Fairfield and Herkimer. It can also be seen on Time Warner Cable channel 11 (hence the on-air branding Central New York's CW 11).
