North River, New York

North River is a hamlet in the Town of Johnsburg, in Upstate New York, within the Adirondack Mountains. It is located on the upper Hudson River five miles north of the hamlet of North Creek in Warren County, on the northern border with Hamilton County. Historically it was one of the centers of the New York State garnet industry. The last remaining garnet mine in New York is located in North River.

Riparius Bridge

The Riparius Bridge is a two lane truss bridge that carries New York State Route 8 across the Hudson River connecting Johnsburg, New York with Chester, New York. It was built in 2003, replacing a similar style camelback truss bridge that had been built in 1919. The new bridge was built to better accommodate vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
