Parkchester, Bronx

Parkchester is a residential neighborhood geographically located in the east Bronx, New York City. The neighborhood is part of Bronx Community Board 9. Its boundaries, starting from the north and moving clockwise are: East Tremont Avenue to the north, Castle Hill Avenue to the east, the Cross-Bronx Expressway-Westchester Avenue to the south (Westchester Avenue is the southern border east of Metropolitan Avenue), and the Bronx River Parkway to the west.

New York Connecting Railroad

The New York Connecting Railroad or NYCR is a rail line in the borough of Queens in New York City. It links New York City and Long Island by rail directly to the North American mainland. Amtrak, CSX, Canadian Pacific Railway, Providence and Worcester Railroad and New York and Atlantic Railway currently use the line. It runs from the Hell Gate Bridge over the East River to Fresh Pond Junction yard in Glendale. It was completed in 1917.

Parkchester (formerly Parkchester – East 177th Street) is an express station on the IRT Pelham Line of the New York City Subway. It is located in the Bronx at the intersection of the Cross-Bronx Expressway service roads (formerly East 177th Street), Metropolitan Avenue, and Westchester Avenue, atop Hugh J. Grant Circle. It is served by the 6 train at all times and the <6> train during weekdays in the peak direction. It is an express station with three tracks and two island platforms.

Castle Hill Avenue (IRT Pelham Line)

Castle Hill Avenue is a local station on the IRT Pelham Line of the New York City Subway.
