The population was 5,111 at the 2000 census and is now the most populated village in Seneca County. The village is named after the Waterloo in Belgium, where Napoleon was defeated.

Seneca Meadows Landfill

Seneca Meadows, owned by Seneca Meadows, Inc. (SMI) is a landfill in Seneca Falls, New York, near Town of Waterloo, with almost 400 acres of landfill and a 2,600 acres facility. It is the largest active landfill in New York State, as well as Seneca County's fourth largest industrial employer. At peak times, the company employs more than 160 full-time workers. In 2005, it accepted more than 6,000 tons of garbage a day from multiple states (then three). The height limit was 280 feet .

Seneca Lake State Park

Seneca Lake State Park is located in Seneca County, New York in the USA. The park is at the north end of Seneca Lake, one of the Finger Lakes. The park is south of and between Geneva and Waterloo. The park offers a beach, picnic tables, biking, fishing and ice fishing and boat launches. On August 1, 2005, the park closed its "Sprayground" water park after the parasite Cryptosporidium was discovered in the tanks supplying the attraction.

Seneca Falls (hamlet), New York

Seneca Falls is a hamlet in Seneca County, New York, in the United States. The population was 6,861 at the 2000 census. The hamlet is in the Town of Seneca Falls, east of Geneva. The hamlet was a village from 1831 to 2011, and Seneca Falls became the largest New York village ever to approve dissolution after village residents voted to dissolve it in 2010. Finger Lakes Regional Airport (0G7) is south of the hamlet.
