Stillwater Bridge (Hudson River, New York)

Stillwater Bridge is a truss bridge in the Capital District of New York in the United States. It carries Stillwater Bridge Road across the Hudson River from the village of Stillwater in Saratoga County to the town of Schaghticoke in Rensselaer County. The bridge is two lanes wide and has a sidewalk only along the south side of the road. Stillwater Bridge begins at an intersection with U.S. Route 4 and NY 32 in Stillwater.

Battles of Saratoga

The Battles of Saratoga (September 19 and October 7, 1777) conclusively decided the fate of British General John Burgoyne's army in the American War of Independence and are generally regarded as a turning point in the war. The battles were fought eighteen days apart on the same ground, 9 miles south of Saratoga, New York. Burgoyne's campaign to divide New England from the southern colonies had started well, but slowed due to logistical problems.

Boot Monument

The Boot Monument is an American Revolutionary War memorial. Located in Saratoga National Historical Park, New York, it commemorates Major General Benedict Arnold's service at the Battles of Saratoga in the Continental Army, but contrives not to name him. The monument commemorates Arnold's contribution to the Continental Army's victory over the British in the Battle of Saratoga.
