The town is named after Gouverneur Morris, a signer of the United States Declaration of Independence and landowner in New York. Fulford Place

Fulford Place is the start of the 20th century mansion home of Senator George Taylor Fulford, a Canadian businessman and politician. The home is now a historic house museum reflecting Edwardian period decorations, and is operated by the Ontario Heritage Trust. It was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1992.

St. Mary's College, Brockville

St. Mary's College is a former high school and junior seminary that was operated by the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, a missionary order of the Roman Catholic Church more commonly known as "Redemptorists. " The school was located on a campus on the north bank of the St. Lawrence River in Maitland, Ontario, several kilometres east of Brockville. St. Mary's College (Juvenate) was established by the church's Ecclesiastical Province of Toronto in 1918 when campus construction took place.

The Raid on Elizabethtown (now known as Brockville, Ontario) occurred on February 7, 1813, when Benjamin Forsyth and 200 men crossed the frozen St. Lawrence River to occupy Elizabethtown and seize military and public stores, free American prisoners, then capture British military prisoners.

Brockville Collegiate Institute (BCI) is a public high school located in Brockville, Ontario. BCI houses approximately seven hundred students and follows the Ontario High School Curriculum.
