Kopernik Space Center

The Kopernik Space Education Center is an observatory in Vestal, New York. In addition to operating a scientific observatory, the facility also provides outreach programs for community children, educating them about astronomy and science. Following the 500th anniversary of the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus (called Mikolaj Kopernik in Polish) in 1973, the Space Center was built by the Kopernik Society of Broome County and opened to the public in June 1974.

WBNG-DT2

WBNG-DT2 is the CW-affiliated television station the Eastern Southern Tier of Southern Upstate New York and Northern Pennsylvania. The station is part of The CW Plus and is a second digital subchannel of CBS affiliate WBNG-TV (owned by the Granite Broadcasting Corporation). Over-the-air, WBNG-DT2 broadcasts a 720p high definition digital signal on VHF channel 7.2 from a transmitter on Ingraham Hill Road southwest of downtown.

Vestal High School

Vestal High School is a public high school that operates as part of the Vestal Central School District which encompasses 57 square miles just west of Binghamton in the Southern Tier of New York. It is a four year comprehensive school which annually receives both national and state recognition for excellence in education. The high school offers Varsity and Junior Varsity sports as well as musical opportunities in orchestra, band, and chorus.

WSKG-TV

WSKG-TV is a public television station in Binghamton, New York, broadcasting locally on channel 46 as a Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member station. It is owned and operated by the WSKG Public Telecommunications Council, Inc.. The station's offices are based in Vestal, New York. The station was named for Stanley Kiehl Gambell, a prominent local clergyman who was active in children's television programming.

Vestal, New York

Vestal is a town within Broome County in the Southern Tier of New York, and lies between the Susquehanna River and the Pennsylvania border. As of the 2010 census, the population was 28,043. Vestal is on the south border of the county and is west and southwest of Binghamton. Vestal is home to Binghamton University which draws visitors to the town through its entertainment and sporting events. The university adds thousands of students to the town and employs more than 3,000 faculty and staff.
