Warsaw, New York

Warsaw is a town in Wyoming County, New York. The population was 5,423 at the 2000 census. It is located approximately 37 miles east southeast of Buffalo and approximately 37 miles southwest of Rochester. The town may have been named after Warsaw, Poland. The Town of Warsaw is centrally located in the county and contains a village, also called Warsaw. The village is the county seat of Wyoming County.

WCJW

WCJW (1140 AM, "CJ Country") is a radio station in western New York state. Its AM facility broadcasts at 2,500 watts on 1140 kHz from studios in Warsaw, New York during daytime hours only; however, three co-owned FM translators provide fulltime service. A construction permit was recently granted to allow a daytime power increase to 8,000 watts and 2,300 watts during critical hours.

Wyoming County International Speedway

Wyoming County International Speedway is an asphalt speedway located in Perry, New York, USA. The speedway was built in 1959 as a dirt race track called Perry Speedway. By the early 1970s, the speedway was paved and the concrete retaining wall constructed. In 1984, the macadam was once again covered with a layer of dirt for a time period of 14 years. In 1998, under new ownership, WCIS returned to the highly competitive SST asphalt racing surface.
