See also Soul City (disambiguation) Soul City, North Carolina is a planned community first proposed in 1969 by Floyd McKissick, a civil rights leader and director of the Congress of Racial Equality. Funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, (HUD) as one of thirteen model city projects under the Urban Growth and New Community Development Act, it was located on 5000 acres (20 km²) in Warren County, near Manson.

Northern Vance High School is a high school in North Carolina, located at 293 Warrenton Road in Henderson, North Carolina. The school's mascot is a Viking and the fight song is the Notre Dame Victory March. Northern Vance High School was formerly known as Vance Senior High, but the name was changed in 1992. The name change coincided with the opening of Southern Vance High School.
