The Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club is a country club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. The club hosted the U.S. Women's Open in 1996, 2001, and 2007, yet staged the last Titleholders Championship in 1972. Moore County Airport is a public airport located 3 miles (5 km) north of Southern Pines and 5 miles northeast of Pinehurst, in Moore County, North Carolina, USA. The airport covers 500 acres and has one runway, in the past it had a grass runway. The airport is used for general aviation, however it has had commercial air service, through US Airways affiliate CCair, which ceased in 2002 as a result of the 9/11 attacks and Delta Airlines which ceased in 2007.

The Southern Pines Amtrak Station, located in Southern Pines, North Carolina, is served by the passenger train. The street address is 235 Northwest Broad Street, and is located in the heart of historic downtown Southern Pines. The station was originally built by a predecessor of the Seaboard Air Line Railway in 1898, renovated in 1948, and restored to its 1948 design in 2004. There is no Amtrak ticket office at this station, but there is "Quik-Trak" machine for automated ticketing.
