Secrest Arboretum

Secrest Arboretum (115 acres) is an arboretum located on the campus of the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC), at the intersection of Pine Road and Green Drive, Wooster, Ohio. It is open daily without charge and hosts an estimated 10,000 visitors each year. Secrest Arboretum is the Ohio State University's primary research arboretum, and contains over 2,000 native and introduced species and cultivars of trees, shrubs, and other plants.

Wooster, Ohio

Wooster is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Wayne County. The municipality is located in northeastern Ohio approximately 50 mi SSW of Cleveland and 35 mi SW of Akron. Wooster is noted as the location of The College of Wooster. Wooster was established in 1808 by John Bever, William Henry, and Joseph Larwill, and named after David Wooster, a general in the American Revolutionary War. The population was 24,811 at the 2000 census and 26,119 at the 2010 Census.

College of Wooster

The College of Wooster is a private liberal arts college primarily known for its Independent Study program. It has roughly 2,000 students and is located in Wooster, Wayne County, Ohio, United States (approximately 60 miles south of Cleveland). Founded in 1866 by the Presbyterian church as the University of Wooster, it was from its creation a co-educational institution. The school is a member of The Five Colleges of Ohio and the Great Lakes Colleges Association.
