Geauga County, Ohio

Geauga County is a county located in the state of Ohio, United States. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 93,389, which is an increase of 2.7% from 90,895 in 2000. It is named for a Native American word meaning 'raccoon' in the Onondaga or Seneca language, originally the name of the Grand River. The county seat is Chardon. In 2008, Forbes Magazine ranked Geauga County as the fourth best place in America to raise a family.

Sand Ridge Golf Club

Sand Ridge Golf Club, was designed by Tom Fazio and is located in Munson Township, Geauga County, Ohio, near Chardon. Construction on the course started in late 1995 and opened for its private members on May 18, 1998. The course was built on 370 acres of woods, pastures and wetlands located next to the Fairmount Minerals sandstone quarry in Chardon. It also contains the headwaters of both the Chagrin and Cuyahoga rivers.

Berkshire High School (Burton, Ohio)

Berkshire High School is a public high school in Burton, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Berkshire School District. Its mascot is the badger. Prior to its serving the Claridon Township, Geauga County, Ohio, and Troy Township, Geauga County, Ohio, communities (in addition to Burton), it was known as Burton High School and its mascot was the maple leaf. The current location of Berkshire High School is the former residence of Seabury Ford, governor of Ohio.
